Chandigarh: Jewellery worth Rs 13 lakh was allegedly stolen by a domestic maid from an IAF officer’s house in Sector 49. Complainant Pratima Mishra, wife of Wing Commander Hemant Kumar Mishra posted in New Delhi, claimed on July 4, she found a gold ruby set worth Rs 10 lakh, a gold necklace worth Rs 1 lakh and other jewellery missing, and suspected the role of maid Sangri, a Jagatpura resident. A case has been registered at the Sector 49 police station. TNS

Chandigarh: Dr Namita Gupta, Associate Professor, Centre for Human Rights and Duties, Panjab University, has been invited to attend a training programme titled “Mediation Theory and Skills” at the Central European University, Budapest, Hungary. It will be held from July 18 to July 22. The programme will introduce participants from various countries to mediation theory and skills and will examine the impact of culture and context on the mediation approach adopted. This is for the second time that Dr Gupta has been invited by the Central European University to attend a programme. Earlier, she attended a CEU programme in 2015. TNS
