Chandigarh judoka selected for world varsity games
A 19-year-old local judoka, Ishroop Narang, has been selected to represent the country in below 78kg weight category at the World University Games to be held in Germany in July.
Ishroop is a student of MCM DAV College, Sector 36, and had recently won a gold medal each in the 36th National Games in Uttarakhand and Senior National Judo Championship 2024, Delhi.
She is a trainee of Vivek Thakur at Sector 34 Sports Complex. Ishroop had recently won bronze medal for India in Junior Asian Judo Championship 2024 held in Korea. She had also won a bronze medal in the 2019 Commonwealth Championship held in Birmingham, UK, while representing Punjab.
