Mayor Kuldeep Kumar has given approval to a committee of 11 councillors to visit two sewage treatment plants (STPs) located near 3BRD and Dhanas on Monday.

The Municipal Corporation (MC) has decided to upgrade two STPs at a cost of Rs 16.40 crore and the agenda to this effect was placed before the General House of the MC on August 27 for approval. During the discussion, councillors insisted on visiting the site of the STPs to assess to actual situation or condition of the existing units proposed for revamp.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
