The municipal corporation organised a mega ‘safaimitras suraksha shivir’ as part of the ‘Swachhata hi Seva’ campaign at the Rani Laxmi Bai Mahila Bhawan, Sector 38, here today. This camp aims to prioritise health, safety and well-being of safai karamcharis. The initiative is in collaboration with the TCI Foundation and Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre.
The camp will provide a comprehensive platform for raising awareness and equipping these frontline heroes with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and efficiently. Approximately 5,000 safaimitras will benefit from various schemes and medical check-ups during the camp, which will run throughout the month. This initiative began on September 9.
The camp will screen all sanitation workers involved in garbage collection from households and commercial areas, as well as those working at material recovery facilities.
