Chandigarh, September 7
For the ease of city residents, all online services related to the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation will be in English and Hindi language also.
Commissioner Anindita Mitra asked the officers concerned to execute the same within one week.
“Officials and officers will put more efforts to promote Hindi in the office and all communications/public notices to city residents, including vendors and other licence-holders, will be served in the Hindi language also,” she said.
Mayor Ravi Kant Sharma, who formally launched the “Hindi Pakhwara” at the MC building today, along with Mitra, said the possibilities would be explored to create “Hindi Vibhag” in the corporation to promote the Hindi language in the office. The Mayor said water bills should be in both languages i.e. English as well as Hindi.
While addressing senior officers and heads of various wings of the MC, the Mayor said programmes would be organised during the Hindi Pakhwara scheduled to be held from September 7 to 21. — TNS
