Chandigarh: Unknown persons forcibly took away a motorcycle from a resident of Maloya. Complainant Nitin, a resident of EWS Colony, reported that two miscreants forcibly took away his bike and a phone from near the Sector 39 grain market chowk on June 13. The police investigated the matter and registered a case on June 26. In another incident, a woman of Sector 42 reported that an unknown person riding a bike snatched her bag containing a phone, documents and Rs 400 near Attawa Chowk, Sector 42. Chandigarh: Music legend RD Burman’s birth anniversary was celebrated at Tagore Theatre here on Monday. A musical show was organised by an NGO, Hope For All. The programme highlighted interesting anecdotes from RD Burman“s life along with his songs. A lot of upcoming artistes displayed their talent in singing on the stage which was well cheered by the audience. TNS

Pinjore garden closed today
Panchkula: Yadavindra Gardens at Pinjore would remain closed on Tuesday due to administrative reasons and maintenance. A spokesman for the district administration urged the people not to visit the garden to avoid unnecessary harassment.
