Chandigarh: Patient hangs herself in hospital washroom
Chandigarh, July 6
A woman patient from Karnal allegedly hanged herself in a washroom of the Government Multi-Speciality Hospital, Sector 16 (GMSH-16), here today.
According to the authorities concerned, the patient, Rajwinder Kaur was suffering from chronic myeloid leukaemia. She was admitted to the GMSH-16 on July 4.
She was undergoing chemotherapy at the PGI and was shifted to the GMSH-16 for the treatment of anaemia.
Rajwinder had undergone blood transfusion once. Around 4 pm today, she went to the washroom and hanged herself from the shower with her “dupatta”.
The hospital staff immediately tried to revive her, but in vain. The hospital authorities informed the police about the incident.
