According to police officials, Singh had been undergoing treatment for depression at a private hospital in Sector 32. Investigators confirmed that he ended his life by hanging himself from a pipe in the storeroom of his government quarters. No suicide note was found from the scene.

The incident came to light early Friday morning when Singh’s wife noticed he was not in their room. On searching the house, she found his body hanging in the storeroom and immediately informed the police. A case has been registered and proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC are in progress.
