Chandigarh Police ‘Run for Unity’ marks Rashtriya Ekta Diwas
Event aimed at promoting national integrity and unity
Chandigarh Police observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas today with a “Run for Unity” at police station, Sector 34, to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The event, aimed at promoting national integrity and unity, saw enthusiastic participation from residents and police personnel.
The run was flagged off by DGP, Chandigarh, Sagar Preet Hooda, along with Chandigarh SSP Kanwardeep Kaur and SP (City), KM Priyanka. Around 170-180 participants from Resident Welfare Associations, Market Welfare Associations, along with officers and staff from the SDPO (South) office and police station, Sector 34, took part in the unity run. The school band of St Anne’s School, Sector 32, also performed, adding ceremonial vigour to the occasion.
Addressing participants before the run, senior police officers emphasised the significance of Patel’s legacy in unifying the country and urged citizens to uphold his ideals of national integration and collective responsibility. They also highlighted the importance of community participation in strengthening social harmony.
The event concluded with renewed commitments towards fostering unity and public cooperation. Chandigarh Police stated that such initiatives reflected its ongoing efforts to build stronger civic partnerships and promote patriotic spirit among residents.
