The city today witnessed its warmest day in four years.

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature today rose to 41.2°C, five degrees above normal. Last year, the highest maximum temperature of the month was 37.9°C on April 16. In 2019, it was 38.9°C on April 29 and in 2018, 40.4°C on April 27.

In 2017, the month’s highest temperature was recorded at 41.6°C on April 21.

In the past few days, the city has seen hot weather with the maximum temperature hovering around 40°C.

The next two days are likely to be partly cloudy. For May 2, there is a forecast of light rain.
