Chandigarh reports 119 COVID-19 cases on Thursday, taking the Union Territory’s total to 2,515.

The city’s death toll stands at 31.

Over 1,000 infections remain active in the city.

Earlier, a 74-year-old man from Sector 24 died at the PGI. He suffered refractory septic shock due to coronavirus and acute respiratory distress syndrome.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
