People got some respite from the hot weather conditions as the maximum temperature today fell below 40°C after two days.

The maximum temperature today came down to 37.5°C from 40.7°C recorded yesterday. Today’s temperature, however, is still three degrees above normal. On the contrary, the minimum temperature rose from 21.1°C yesterday to 23.7°C today.

According to the Chandigarh Meteorological Department, isolated thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds (speed 30-40 kmph) is likely on Wednesday. Heat wave conditions are expected in isolated parts of the city during the next 24 hours. —
