Chandigarh: Sector 37 school win football tourney

Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 37, won the inter-school football tournament for boys’ U-17 category by logging a 2-0 win over St Stephen’s School, Sector 45.

The tournament was organised by the UT Education Department.

Harimaz netted the opening goal for the Sector 37 team in the eighth minute, while Vansh doubled the lead in the 20th minute to seal an easy win for the side.

Meanwhile, Vivek High School, Sector 38, defeated Strawberry Fields School, Sector 26, by a solitary goal to claim the third position.

After a goalless first half, the only goal of the match came in the 53rd minute. Naitik netted the only goal of the match to ensure the third position for the Sector 38 team.
