Chandigarh Smart City Ltd, BEL sign pact for command centre

Chandigarh, June 15

Chandigarh Smart City Limited (CSCL) has signed a contract with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for the implementation of Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) in the city.

The total value of the contract is Rs 295 crore. It includes civil construction of the Integrated Command and Control Centre complex, including buildings for the ICCC, supervisory control and data acquisition system of all utility services and a police command centre.

These command centres will act as the brain of the city with an on-premise data centre hosting all relevant solutions for all following field systems and data analytics tools for informative decision-making, better disaster management and smarter governance.

The Integrated Command and Control Centre will monitor smart field elements like CCTV surveillance wherein more than 1,000 cameras will be installed for real-time surveillance of traffic junctions and other important buildings of the city such as waterworks, parks, government hospitals, community centres, parking locations and schools on around 285 locations.

This system will include advanced video analytics system and will generate automatic event alerts. It will help in real-time surveillance of the city and generate alarms for specific incidents. The BEL will implement the system in 18 months. — TNS
