Chandigarh takes up issue of substandard ventilators with Central Government

The UT Administration has written to the Central Government over the quality of ventilators provided to them under the PM Cares Fund after the PGI raised the issue of substandard quality of ventilators.

Around 20 ventilators were received by the UT Administration under the PM Cares Fund, of which 10 ventilators each were provided to the PGI and to the GMCH, Sector 32. The PGI had reported certain faults with the ventilators provided by the UT Administration. The manufacturer of the batch sent to the PGI differs from the one sent to the GMCH.

BS Chavan, Director-cum-Principal, GMCH, said, “Of the 10 ventilators given to the GMCH, the quality of two ventilators is being tested at the Sector 48 Civil Hospital. We have been using these ventilators for the past six days and the report is satisfactory.” — TNS
