Chandigarh: The police have booked three youths in a case of assault. According to the police, the complainant, a resident of the Maloya colony, alleged that Bhupinder, Manav and Aadi, all residents of the same locality, attacked him and his friend with a knife. A case under Sections 323, 324, 341, 504 and 34 of the IPC has been registered at the Maloya police station. TNS
Mahajan School log victory
Chandigarh: In the second match of the 2nd DP Azad Sports U-19 Invitational Tournament, Mahajan School of Cricket defeated Sector 16 Cricket Stadium by three wickets. Batting first, the Sector 16 team bundled out at 170. Harshul (41) and Ranvijay (36) remained the main run scorers. Shivam Nagrath claimed 4/34. In reply, MSC achieved the target in 38 overs with the help of Rupesh Yadav (67), Dhruv Mittal (33) and Yuvraj Balu (15). Nagrath was declared Man of the Match. TNS
Lakshit wins boys’ 50m race
Chandigarh: Lakshit, Rishab and Pratham claimed top three positions, respectively, in the boys’ 50m race during the annual athletics meet of St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44. In the girls’ event, Chahal, Akriti and Gurnoor claimed the top three positions, respectively. Bir Pratap won boys’ 80m race, followed by Shubham and Aditya. In the girls’ category, Saanvi, Ananya and Jasleen claimed top three positions. TNS
Half Marathon on February 25
Chandigarh: Punjab Half Marathon will be organised on February 25 under the theme of ‘Run Against Drug Abuse’. The bi-annual event, will be kicked-off from Chandigarh Club, Sector 1 and the participants will be running across three categories – 21 km (half-marathon), 10 km and 5 km categories. TNS

Chandigarh: Narwal Cricket Academy, Karnal will face High Lander, Shimla in the inaugural match of the 1st RP Singh Memorial Women Seniors Cricket Tournament on February 12. Six teams, Royal Cricket Academy-27; Cricket with Nagesh Academy, Zirakpur; Champion Cricket Academy, Kharar; Cricket Academy of Narwal; High Lander and HSC Academy-32 will participate in the competition. Rahul shines at ‘Run for Health’
Chandigarh: Rahul emerged winner in the 5km category of ‘Run for Health’ on cancer awareness, while Ashok and Siddhant got second and third place. Chandigarh: Chandigarh University’s men and women teams claimed silver medals in the recently concluded All India Inter-University Table Tennis Championships. The Chandigarh University’s men’s table tennis team, comprising of Divyansh Srivastava, Jash Amit Modi, Chinmaya Somiya, Khelenderjit Yengkhom and Parthav Kelkar, while the women’s team comprised of Trisha Gogoi, Sampada Bhiwandkar, Koushiki Dasgupta, Manasi Chiplunkar and Jitakhee Mazumdar. UT win Roller hockey tourney
Chandigarh: Chandigarh men’s roller hockey team defeated Aligarh University 2-0 to win the Sir Syed All India Roller Hockey Championship, at AMU University in Aligarh. A total of 17 teams participated in this tournament. Chandigarh’s Jujhar Singh was named Player of the Final and player of the tournament, while Naman claimed the best goalkeeper’s title.
