A meeting under the chairmanship of Mandip Singh Brar, Home Secretary-cum-Secretary Forests, was held today to discuss plantation programme in this regard. This was in continuation of a meeting held by UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria recently, wherein it was decided to make a comprehensive plantation programme for the monsoon season in 2025 by involving all stakeholders concerned, including schools and colleges.

Trees with good foliage and flowering species would be planted to have maximum benefit of the rains, which will ensure better growth and survival of saplings. Brar emphasised that this was a very important and time-bound task and the schedule should be prepared in a time-bound manner latest by March 31.
