Chandigarh, January 20

An unknown car driver has been booked for hitting a scooterist, leading to his death.

The accident took place on December 9. The victim, a resident of Sector 41, succumbed to his injuries on December 24.

According to the police, complainant Arjun Singh, a resident of Raipur Khurd village, reported that the unknown car driver sped away after hitting a scooter driven by Balbir Singh on the road dividing Sector 41 and 42. As a result, the scooter rammed into a Tata Ace from the rear.

The victim, who suffered injuries in the mishap, was admitted to the PGI on December 9. He succumbed to his injuries on December 24.

The police have now registered a case against the unknown car driver at the Sector 36 police station and initiated investigations into the matter.
