Chandigarh Urban Festival to cheer up city enthusiasts

Chandigarh Urban Festival – Dholicious 2.0 is back with its third edition at Sector 17 Plaza. It’s a community ‘free-for-all’ festival where ordinary people gather to celebrate the spirit of Chandigarh minus artificial grandeur of clubs or lounge parties.

It is the first event in the series of celebrations planned for CUF 2020; an 8-day extravaganza from Feb 9 to Feb 16, 2020.

It is a unique platform and a mega event that brings together the entire cross section of citizens of Chandigarh through a plethora of annual activities like city celebration; neighborhood initiative; ideas competition & exhibition; and intellectual discourses.

The festival promotes an understanding of the city as a community space; encourages urban interaction and bonding; generates belongingness to the city and also participation in the urban issues that may lead to a sustainable development for the Chandigarh region.

The theme for the city celebration of year 2020 is ‘Introducing Chandigarh to Chandigarh’. Like every year, the ceremonial street of Chandigarh (known as Jan Marg) and the venue for celebrations will be the Capitol Complex.

A mix of cultural, creative, intellectual, fitness and environment related activities that will be co-organised by the citizen volunteers, local institutes, government and private organisations, artists, professionals, market and the industry inspired by the love and pride for the city. Identifying and promoting local talent will also be the major emphasis during the event.
