Chandigarh, April 14

Residents of the City Beautiful got some respite from the prevailing hot weather as the UT witnessed the first drizzle of this summer today.

The evening drizzle brought down the temperature by 8.4°C. The maximum temperature was 36°C at 5:30 pm, but it went down to 27.6°C at 8:30 pm. The drizzle brought along cool breeze.

March went rainless. Last rain was recorded in the city on February 26. According to the Meteorological Department, it was a “trace” rainfall in city today. Panchkula recorded .5-mm rainfall.

The weather is likely to be partly cloudy tomorrow and the maximum temperature is expected to be 39°C.
