The rally, which started from the Congress Bhawan in Sector 35, was stopped after it had covered some distance as the police had barricaded the area. Traffic was briefly disrupted due to the march.

City Youth Congress president Manoj Lubana alleged that Rahul Gandhi was continuously demanding answers from the Prime Minister and to suppress his voice, his Parliament membership was terminated. He alleged that the BJP government was trying to threaten those who oppose it through government agencies, but neither Rahul Gandhi nor Congress workers would bow down to it.

Harish Choudhary, incharge, Chandigarh Congress, who also participated in the march, said, “There is an undeclared ‘emergency-like situation’ in the country, but we will continue to fight against this dictatorial attitude of the government.”
