Chandra Mohan cremated

Chandigarh, December 26

Techno-entrepreneur Chandra Mohan, the man behind India’s first indigenous tractor, was cremated at the Sector 25 crematorium here today. A Padma Shri recipient, he breathed his last on Wednesday at the age of 87.

Hundreds of people from different walks of life paid their last respects to the departed soul. Mohan’s son Taron Mohan performed the last rites.

Prominent among those present were NN Vohra, former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and President of The Tribune Trust, former Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court Justice SS Sodhi (retd), a trustee, his wife Bonny Sodhi, Rajesh Ramachandran, Editor, The Tribune, and Vinay Verma, General Manager.

Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu, former Army Chief General VP Malik, BN Goswani, RK Saboo and Mac Sareen also attended the cremation.
