Chandigarh: Chargesheet against gym trainer in molestation case

The Chandigarh Police has filed a chargesheet against 28-year-old gym trainer Sawan Bhatti, who was arrested on the allegation of molesting a girl in a Sector 16 park.
The police registered the case against the accused on the complaint of a woman at the Sector 17 police station under Sections 376, 354, 354-A and 506 of the IPC and arrested him on July 1.
The woman said on May 19, when she was walking alone in the park, the accused gagged her mouth and threatened to kill her. Later, he took her to a secluded place inside the park and fled after sexually assaulting her.
During investigation, the police learnt that another such complaint against the accused was registered on June 10.
According to the complaint, the accused had stopped a girl in Sector 15 here on the pretext of asking for directions, forced her to sit on his scooter and took her to a secluded place, where he sexually molested her in the same manner. The Sector 11 police station had also registered a case against an unknown person in this matter.
The police had formed many teams to nab the accused. After nearly two months the police were able to arrest the accused.
The police claimed that the accused was so clever that he used to drive the scooter on the cycle tracks to avoid cameras. Police investigation revealed that the accused used to leave his mobile at home and stuck tape on the number plate of the scooter at the time of the crime.
