Meanwhile, according to Gursimrat Jawandha, chairman of the CGL, the event will be played among 21 teams which will be divided into three groups for the Round Robin stage. The top-four teams from each group will qualify for the Super-12 based on CGL points. All teams will have a squad of 18 players and each team owner will be entitled to nominate a maximum of 10 players in their team.

The remaining eight players will be chosen from the pool-list during the auction. In the 10 nominated players each team will have three players from Below 10 handicap, three from Handicap 10 to 18 and four from any category.

In the final squad of 18, each team will also have a lady golfer and a golfer over 75 years of age. “It is mandatory for the 16 players to play two CGL games, and 17th and 18th players to play at least one,” said Partap Hoon, one of the organising committee members. The event will be played under Four Ball (Better ball) and singles (match play) with stipulated round of 18 holes.
