Hosts Chandigarh University (CU) teams won the All India Inter-University Rugby Championship (Men) 2024-25 by registering impressive wins in the final matches of both Rugby-7s and 15s.

In the 15s final, the host team defeated University of Calicut 10-3, while in the 7s category, Chandigarh University team defeated KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, 10-7. As many as 57 teams from universities from all over India participated in this five-day tournament.

Earlier, in 15s event, Chandigarh University defeated Nirwan University, Jaipur, 45-0, followed by a 30-0 win over Lovely Professional University team and 34-0 over Shivaji University, Vidyanagar (Kolhapur) in the semifinal. In the Rugby 7s, the university defeated LNCT University, Bhopal, 39-0 and Nirvana University, Jaipur, 47-0.

In the quarterfinal, Chandigarh University defeated Lucknow University 24-0, followed by a 19-0 win over Calicut University. In the third place match of the 15s category, Mumbai University defeated Shivaji University, Vidyanagar, 39-10. In the Rugby 7s, Calicut University claimed third position by defeating Mumbai University 19-17. About 900 players and officials of various universities participated in this event.
