Chemist, MCA student arrested with banned tablets, injections

Two persons, including an MCA student and a chemist shopowner, riding a Ford Endveaour, were nabbed by the crime branch of the Chandigarh Police while carrying banned tablets, cough syrups and injections.
A police party was on patrol duty when an SUV was stopped on suspicion in Sector 29. Karan Sharda was driving the vehicle. He was accompanied by Durgesh Mishra.
Durgesh is shopkeeper and owns Shakshi Enterprises, a chemist shop in Sector 29. Cops said he was selling drugs to Karan, who further sold these to college students and PG residents.
Karan has a shop at Makhan Majra village. The police said Karan was pursuing masters in computer applications (MCA).
During search of the vehicle 448 syrup bottles, 310 tablets and 65 banned injections were found, the police added. A case has been registered against both the suspects under the NDPS Act at the Industrial Area police station.
