The District Chemists Association Panchkula (DCAP) has called for a two-hour symbolic protest on Tuesday, from 8 am to 10 am, at the Sector 7-8-17-18 roundabout, expressing strong opposition to what they describe as unjust arrests and coercive actions by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

Similar protests will be held by chemists in Chandigarh at Matka Chowk and in Mohali at Phase 7-8 light point.

Mohinder Kakkar, president of DCAP, along with patron BB Singhal, stated, “The arrested wholesalers were fully cooperative with the NCB during the probe, yet they have been behind bars for 12 days without clarity, lodged in Ambala Jail.”

The chemists’ association contended that all seven wholesalers were operating under valid licences issued under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and Rules, 1945.
