Chandigarh, June 24
Ayaan Garg scored five points to claim the lead on the opening day of the Chandigarh Schools Under-15 Rapid Chess Selection Tournament today. Ekaaksha Partap Singh Negi ended the day with the second position by scoring 4.5 points, while Abeer Manchanda scored four points to claim the third position.
The championship is being organised by the Chandigarh Chess Association under the aegis of the All -India Chess Federation.
A total of 47 boys and 17 girls are participating in the meet. The champion and runners-up in both boys and girls’ categories as well as the best player from government school in both categories will be selected to witness the 44th Chess Olympiad at Chennai.
