Chandigarh, June 21

The Chess Olympiad torch, which was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from New Delhi on June 19, will reach the city on June 23.

The torch will be brought by grandmaster Deep Sengupta and received at the Rock Garden by the Chandigarh Chess Association and the UT Administration at 7 am.

The torch is schedule to travel across 75 locations in India, starting from New Delhi to Mahabalipuram, the venue of the 44th Chess Olympiad.

The All-India Chess Federation is hosting the 44th edition in Chennai (first time in India) from July 28 to August 10 and a total of 187 countries are participating it.
