Former head of the city’s Congress unit Pardeep Chhabra today claimed that he had been asked by Chandigarh Congress in-charge Harish Rawat to withdraw his resignation.

“He (Rawat) asked me to withdraw my resignation. I shared my concerns with him and he said he will take it up with the party high command,” claimed Chhabra, who had resigned from the primary membership of the party on Friday.

His resignation, however, has not been accepted so far. — TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
