Chitkara log six-wicket win in inter-school meet

The boys’ U-17 cricket team of Chitkara International School, Sector 25, logged a six-wicket win over Government Senior Secondary School, Mauli Jagran, during the inter-school tournament.

Batting first, the government school team was bundled out for 69 runs as Baba (21) and Mohammed Kaif (7) remained the main scorers for the side. Mayanak claimed three wickets, while Rohit Sood picked two. In reply, the Sector 25 team posted 70 in 8 overs with the help of Abhinav (22) and Rohit (12). Vipin and Priyanshu picked one wicket each for the bowling side.

In the second match, Government Model High School (GMHS), Sector 38, claimed a 20-run win over GMHS, Manimajra (pocket No. 8). The Sector 38 team had posted 74. Ayush (25) and Aryan (9) were the top contributors for the side. Rohan and Ankush shared three wickets each for the bowling side. In reply, the Manimajra team scored 54 in the allotted 10 overs. Armaan (17) and Anas (7) contributed in the chase. Ayush picked three, and Amit grabbed two for the bowling side.

Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, won the third match by posting an 84-run win over GMSSS, Sector 37. The Sector 36 team posted 139 with the help of Kunwar Jhamb (44) and Abhay Singh (40). RIMT School, Manimajra, defeated GMSSS, Sector 23, by 35 runs and St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, posted a 125-run win over Modern Ways School, Sector 29.

GMSS-10 fencers win overall trophy

In the boys’ U-19 inter-school fencing tournament, the team of Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 10, claimed the overall trophy with 54 points, followed by Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Sector 40 (19 points) and GMSSS, Sector 15 (7 points). In the boys’ individual event, Kamal Joshi won the foil event by defeating Lalit Chander Joshi. Kunal and Siddharth shared the third position. Pawan Upadhyay won the epee event, followed by Nikhil Singh at second position. Shubham and Simran Singh Sidhu shared the third position. In sabre, Kulraj Panav Sharma defeated Daksh for claiming the gold medal, while Nihal Singh Mann and Simran Singh Sidhu claimed the joint third position.

Vivek, Ryan win chess meet

The chess teams of Vivek High School, Sector 38, and Ryan International School, Sector 49, won the inter-school chess meet for boy’s U-17 and girls’ U-19 age groups, respectively. In the boys’ U-17 event, Saupin’s School, Sector 32, finished second and St John’s High School, Sector 26, claimed the third position. In the girls’ U-19 event, Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School claimed second position and Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, claimed the third spot.

In the boys’ U-19 event, St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School won the first position, followed by St Anne’s School, Sector 32, at second and Delhi Public School, Sector 40, at third. Delhi Public School won the girls’ U-17 title, while Tender Heart School, Sector 33, finished second and Sacred Heart School ended at third position.

Meanwhile, in the boys’ U-17 baseball meet, the team of GMSSS, Sector 10, recorded a 10-0 win over Saupin’s School, while the GMSSS, Sector 15, posted an 8-2 win over Ryan International. GMSSS, Sector 8, defeated GMSSS, Sector 16, with a 9-2 verdict and St Anne’s School posted a 6-3 victory over GMSSS, Sector 37.

DAV lads win handball meet

In the boys’ U-17 interschool handball final, the team of DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, logged a 26-11 win over Guru Nanak Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Sector 30. The girls’ U-19 handball team of GMSSS, Sector 16, won the title by posting a 22-17 win over GMSSS, Sector 56. Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, finished third. GMSSS, Sector 16, defeated Tribune School, Sector 29, by 26-11 to claim the third position.
