City boys share points with Pondicherry
Chandigarh, January 8
The four-day Col CK Nayudu Trophy match between Chandigarh and Pondicherry ended in a draw at the Sector 16 Stadium here today owing to continuous rain. Both teams were awarded one point each.
Batting first, the Pondicherry boys were bowled out for 156 on the first day and in reply the local lads were 58/2 when the rain halted the match. No play was possible after that. Chandigarh are currently placed third on the points table with 16 points — from two wins and two draws — in the Plate Group. Odisha and Pondicherry, who are both unbeaten so far, are heading the points table at first and second positions, respectively. Chandigarh will now take Mizoram in their next match, starting on January 13 in Visakhapatnam. — TNS
