The Chandigarh Pradesh Congress Committee today observed the death anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru at the party office in Sector 35.

Floral tributes were offered by senior leaders, party workers and office-bearers to commemorate the immense contributions of the visionary leader in the making of a modern India.

Speaking on the occasion, Chandigarh Pradesh Congress President HS Lucky said Pandit Nehru was the architect of India’s democratic foundations and a beacon of modern thought.

“Pandit Nehru was a towering figure whose ideals of democracy, secularism and scientific temper continue to guide the nation even today. His role in laying the institutional framework for a strong, self-reliant India is unparalleled,” he added.

The event concluded with a pledge to uphold the democratic and secular ideals cherished by Pandit Nehru.
