In a circular signed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Traffic Administration & South West, it was emphasised that under Section 210(B) of the Motor Vehicles Act, offences committed by an enforcing authority carry double the penalty.

The order makes it clear that any such misconduct, if reported, will attract departmental action against the official concerned and non-compliance will be taken seriously. Copies of the directive have been sent to all Traffic DSPs and the Inspector, Traffic Administration, for strict enforcement.
