It’s a matter of pride that the Chandigarh international airport has been accredited with service quality award by the Airport Council International (ACI) in the 2-5 million passengers category. The quality of services being offered to travellers are remarkable — lounges, sitting and waiting areas, ATMs and cafeterias at the airport. The infrastructure in all respects is par excellence. The number of flights operating from the Chandigarh airport is also increasing and it is expected that by the end of this year, all major cities across the country will be connected through an air link with the City Beautiful. Even direct international flights from Chandigarh will further boost growth of the region and will bring the city on a global map, which can help in increasing tourism sector of the region. As a result, commercial viability of the airport will increase manifold. — Vandana, Chandigarh

Blocked road gully

A road gully near house number 3497 in Sector 46-C gets blocked whenever it rains. It was repaired last year by the MC staff. However, the two days of rain on March 11 and 12 once again blocked the gully and it will remain so for several now. The MC should look into the problem before it causes accidents. — RK Kapoor, Chandigarh
