CJM reviews living conditions at Panchkula shelter home
Chief Judicial Magistrate and District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Secretary Ajay Kumar Ghanghas visited the CCI Shelter Home, Sishu Greh, to assess the welfare of 22 children residing there.
The shelter houses 10 boys and 12 girls, and Ghanghas interacted with each child to ensure their well-being.
The CJM further went on to inspect the cleanliness, food quality, and hygiene, all of which were found to be meeting the satisfactory standards.
During the visit, Ghanghas checked the implementation of previous instructions, including the installation of CCTV cameras in staff rooms and offices. He was informed that correspondence for installation had been sent to higher authorities, and directed the shelter to submit a copy of the communication to DLSA. He emphasized expediting the process to ensure enhanced safety.
Ghanghas also reviewed the donation records and stressed the importance of maintaining accurate documentation for transparency. He instructed the shelter to keep a visitor register and requested the DLSA staff to liaise with the Child Welfare Committee for proper enforcement.
Appreciating the caregivers’ dedication, Ghanghas specifically inquired about a seven-month-old child, Ayush, who needed special medical attention. He assured continued monitoring and support from DLSA to maintain a safe and nurturing environment for the children.
