More than 11 persons were injured in a clash between two groups over an alleged illegal mining in Mukandpur village.

Four injured have been admitted to GMCH-32, three at Mohali Civil Hospital and four at Dera Bassi sub-divisional hospital, said Mohali Civil Surgeon Sangeeta Jain.

Things went out of hands when the youths from both the sides clashed again at a Dera Bassi sub-divisional hospital and vandalised several rooms there.

Terrified patients and their attendants fled for safety in the middle of the night. Police reached the spot and nabbed a few of them.

Doctor sand medical staff have alleged lack of security and unsafe working conditions in the hospital.

Furniture, flowerpots, wheelchairs, tables, and other items were hurled at each other during the clash in the hospital. Hospital staff said pandemonium prevailed inside the hospital for half an hour before police personnel reached the spot and brought the situation under control.

Mohali SSP Deepak Pareek visited Dera Bassi Civil Hospital today to review the incident.
