Endowed with a resonating, soulful and melodious voice, Sameer Bhalerao unfolded the melodic character of popular ‘raga Bihag’ through an ‘alaap’ followed by ‘bada khayal’ composition which melted into fast-paced composition, ‘Lagan tose lagi’. He doled out a crisp romantic ‘thumri’, ‘Ab Maan jao Sayian’, before concluding with an invocatory ‘bhajan’. Sameer Bhalerao interspersed his melodic recital with spontaneous improvisations matching the rhythmic patterns on tabla.
