Chandigarh, February 11
Jhansi-based eminent classical vocalist Pandit Sameer Bhalerao enthralled the city audience during a musical concert organised by the Pracheen Kala Kendra at Koser Auditorium here today.
Endowed with a resonating, soulful and melodious voice, Sameer Bhalerao unfolded the melodic character of popular ‘raga Bihag’ through an ‘alaap’ followed by ‘bada khayal’ composition which melted into fast-paced composition, ‘Lagan tose lagi’. He doled out a crisp romantic ‘thumri’, ‘Ab Maan jao Sayian’, before concluding with an invocatory ‘bhajan’. Sameer Bhalerao interspersed his melodic recital with spontaneous improvisations matching the rhythmic patterns on tabla.
Agra Gharana guru Pandit Yashpaul and Kendra Secretary Sajal Koser honoured the artistes.
