Prof Vivek Lal, Director, PGI, inaugurated a clinical simulator lab at the Biomedical Instruments and Devices Hub (BID Hub) at the PGI. The lab is a major milestone for the institute. It mimics human physiology, and several disease conditions and drug reactions can be practiced on this.

Prof Lal highlighted the importance of the clinical simulator and stressed that it should be utilised to the maximum to train healthcare personnel as well as students.

Prof GD Puri and Prof Joseph Mathew, coordinators of the hub, explained various functions of the simulator. The sophisticated equipment will also be used for the clinical testing of indigenously developed instruments and devices.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
