Sewer lines in the Chhoti Baradari area routinely get clogged, which causes sewage to flood the roads. Office-goers in the area claimed that they have complained to the Municipal Corporation (MC) regarding the issue many times but to no avail and the problem remains unsolved till date.

Members of the Choti Baradari Market Development Association also complained of MC’s ignorance about the issue.

“We recently submitted a complaint to the MC on September 24 regarding the issue. We have highlighted that the sewer lines are small in size in comparison to the flow of waste. Moreover, the sewer lines of a 15-showroom complex of the PUDA have been connected to the sewer lines of Chhoti Baradari area, which has aggravated the issue”, they said.

Davinder Pal Singh, general Secretary of the association, said, “I have complained to the officers concerned many times but no action was taken. The current XEN was an assistant municipal engineer in 2015 when we wrote to the office on the matter. The same problem of leaking sewerage lines exists today as well.”

XEN Suresh Kumar said the sewer lines would be repaired soon.
