CM Mann unveils 30-foot statue of Bhagat Singh

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today unveiled a 30-foot bronze statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh at the Chandigarh international airport. After inaugurating ‘Nishaan-e-Inquilaab’, Mann said it would inspire the youngsters to do selfless service to the nation by perpetuating the life and philosophy of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh.

The Chief Minister said the statue, sculpted by Dr Vishal Bhatnagar in Jaipur at a cost of Rs 5 crore, will inspire youngsters to follow in the great martyr’s footsteps and serve the country zealously.

“Owing to the strenuous efforts of the state government, the Mohali airport has been named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh. None of the previous governments had bothered about naming this airport after the great martyr. After coming to power, his government accorded top priority to it,” he said.

The Chief Minister said the state government was ensuring that no one from the state migrated abroad so that the martyr’s dreams were fulfilled. The state government has given around 50,000 jobs to the youth in a transparent manner, he said.
