College notes: PGGC, Sector 11
To bridge a direct connect between academia and experts in the domain of defence and security, the Post Graduate Government College, Sector 11, and Gyan Setu Think Tank, Panjab University, signed a memorandum of understanding. The MOU was aimed to promote exchange of knowledge and to provide vital facilities for research undertaking in international relations and security.
Aryans Group of Colleges
Aryans Group of Colleges was honoured with achievers' awards for Fastest Growing Education group in an award ceremony in Tbilisi, Georgia. Dr Anshu Kataria, chairperson, Aryans Group of Colleges, received the award by Nikoloz Tsulukidze, actor and TV host while the guest of honour was Darpan Prashar, chairperson, Cultural Diversity for Peaceful Future NGO.
Gian Jyoti Institute
Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology, Phase 2, organised the 18th International Conference under the banner GJ-IntConMITE 2024, attracting academia, industry leaders, and professionals from across India. Centered on the theme "Leadership in the Age of Disruption", the event saw exchange of innovative ideas and discussions about the ever-evolving landscape of leadership in today's dynamic environment.
Dev Samaj College of Education
Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector 36, organised a workshop on "Sri Aurobindo and the Mother on Education". The workshop was conducted by Sachidananda Mohanty, member of the UGC, ministry of education. In the workshop, Mohanty provided an insightful overview of the life and philosophy of the thinker.
MCM DAV, Sector 36
The MCM DAV College, Sector 36, marked the 135th birth anniversary of its namesake, Justice Mehr Chand Mahajan, by organising a havan ceremony. Held under the aegis of Character Building Committee (CBC) and IQAC of the college, the ceremony was attended by Sneh Mahajan, daughter of Justice Mahajan and former principal of the college as the guests of honour.

Kendriya Vidyalaya 3BRD
PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya 3BRD AFS, observed Veer Baal Diwas by paying tribute to the martyrdom of Chhote Sahibzade. In collaboration with the Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle and Banda Singh Bahadur Study Circle, the school organised a series of activities to educate students about the significance of the day.
St Soldier’s, Panchkula
St Soldier's School, Panchkula, organised its annual function, "Odyssey", showcasing the cultural diversity of the world. Students were dressed in colourful attires representing various continents, set the tone for a showcase of global unity and cultural celebration.
St John’s School
The SJOBA Winter Ball 2024, the annual alumni meet of the St John's Old Boys Association, was held on Monday. The highlight of the event was felicitation of the Golden Jubilee Batch of 1974 and the Silver Jubilee Batch of 1999. Both batches were honoured for their journeys and contributions to the school's storied heritage.
Strawberry Fields
Strawberry Fields Schools, Sector 26, announced the opening of a third school in New Chandigarh from the academic year 2025-26. During the annual sport musical soirée, the school management informed the parents about the opening of the new school. The school is likely to commence classes for pre primary, KG to Class 4.
St Anne’s Convent
St Anne's Convent School, Sector 32, organised its annual
inter-house athletics meet for students of Classes 6 to 12. School manager Rev Fr Ambrose D'Souza declared the meet open and students competed in various events, including javelin throw, relay races, long jump, high jump and shot put among others.
St Xavier’s, Zirakpur
The students of St Xavier's International School, Zirakpur, made a visit to an orphanage. During their visit to the faciltity, the children got a chance to interact with the residents and engaged in fun activities, games and conversations. They also distributed essential items like books, clothes, and snacks during the visit.
