College notes: 'Supercharge' event organised
In a demonstration of industry-academia collaboration, Chitkara University hosted a successful two-day event, Supercharge’ 25 powered by Apple. The event bridged the gap between academic learning and real-world technological advancements. Computer Science and Engineering students hailing from diverse backgrounds engaged with cutting-edge tools and benefitted from valuable insights shared by experts. The event featured a lineup of keynotes and interactive sessions, including the Plenary Session ‘Develop the Future,’ a hands-on Workshop on ‘Creating an App Prototype,’ and a Spotlight on the ‘Incredible Capabilities of Mac.’ Dr Madhu Chitkara, Pro Chancellor of Chitkara University inaugurated the event.
e-learning workshop held
Mohali: CGC Landran’s College of Engineering (CGC-COE), organised an e-learning workshop on Virtual Labs to equip students with advanced knowledge in remote learning. The practical training session was attended by 350 students and 32 faculty members of the institution. An initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India under the aegis of the ‘National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology’(ICT), the Virtual Labs project is a consortium activity consisting of 12 participating institutions with IIT Delhi being the coordinating institute.
Placement drive for students
Chandigarh: Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26, organised a comprehensive awareness-cum-placement drive to equip students across all streams with valuable career opportunities. One of Asia’s largest adventure programme company conducted an insightful pre-placement talk, outlining the essential job requirements and responsibilities. The company offers an exciting opportunity for students to train as adventure camp instructors.
41st Annual Athletics Meet
Chandigarh: Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector 42, organised its 41st Annual Athletic Meet. Principal of the college Dr Binu Dogra inaugurated the meet. She read out the report and highlighted the achievements of students and emphasised on the importance of never giving attitude and going ahead with sports spirit, stamina, speed, power, skill and zeal. In all there were 30 events in which different types of competitions were held.
Personality development programme
Chandigarh: The Post Graduate Government College, Sector 11, started a Personality Development and Industry Readiness Programme. The eight-week long programme will focus on honing the soft skills of the students, help them identify their goals, build their confidence, improve their academic performance, enhance their employability and give them opportunity for a future in industry.
