The Municipal Corporation (MC) is set to implement Aadhaar-Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) for all its employees, including regular, contractual, outsourced and field staff.

MC Commissioner Amit Kumar today ordered officers concerned to implement the initiative at the earliest.

All MC employees must register on the NIC’s AEBAS by March 7. Attendance will be marked using NIC’s facial authentication via the AadhaarBAS/AadhaarFaceRD mobile application on smartphones. From April 1, biometric attendance will be mandatory for all employees and their salaries will be linked to attendance records.

The IT Branch, MC, will conduct training sessions for designated Single Points of Contact (SPoC) from each wing, division or branch. The training will take place from March 3 to 13. The Branch Officers must share details of SPoC within two days.

Registered employees have to update their biometric data, including place of posting, by March 13. A trial run of the system will be conducted from March 15 to 31 before full implementation.
