Command Hospital, Chandimandir, has taken a big step forward in cancer treatment by opening a new Haematology Centre that offers advanced care for serious blood-related diseases.

The centre is fully equipped to treat patients with various types of blood disorders and cancers using the latest medical technology.

It also offers special treatments like stem cell transplant, also known as bone marrow transplant, and other modern therapies, all under one roof.

The hospital performed its first stem cell transplant on a patient suffering from multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer, on June 12.

The operation was led by surgeon Captain Mirza Saleem Amjad, along with a team of doctors and specially trained nursing officers. Dr Pankaj Malhotra, a senior expert from PGIMER, also played a key role by training the hospital staff and offering expert support throughout the process.

The patient has now recovered well and was safely discharged from the hospital on June 30. The successful transplant marks a new beginning for Command Hospital in providing affordable, advanced care to soldiers, veterans and their families.
