In view of a surge in Covid-19 cases, there was a need to increase beds for Covid patients in private hospitals of Panchkula district.

Haryana Assembly Speaker and local MLA Gian Chand Gupta stated this after visiting Alchemist Hospital in Sector 21 here today. He also visited ICU-1 and ICU-2 wards of the hospital and expressed satisfaction over the treatment being provided to Covid patients.

Gupta said they had arranged beds at Kisan Bhawan, Nirankari Bhawan and BRS Dental College for Covid patients. Patients who no more need intensive care could be shifted to these places so that beds for serious Covid patients were available in private hospitals.

Gupta said he had discussed about the supply of medical oxygen and added that the problem of oxygen shortage had been solved to a greater extent. In future, there would be no such problem in the district.

He said people of Nirankari Mission spoke to the Chief Minister for helping Covid patients. As many as 50 beds would be arranged at Nirankari Bhawan to provide better care to patients.

Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Kumar Ahuja, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Civil Surgeon and doctors of Alchemist Hospital discussed about the necessary facilities related to Covid-19.
