Computer operator held for raping minor
The Panchkula police have arrested a computer operator posted at Civil Hospital, Sector 6, for allegedly raping a minor girl. As per the girl’s statement, the accused allegedly sexually exploited her on the hospital premises.
Accused Abhishek was presented in a local court and sent in one-day police remand.
The police said the rape survivor is a minor undergoing training at the hospital. The girl in her complaint said, “Abhishek has tried to befriend me many times. Even after my refusal he did not stop. He also tried to touch me inappropriately and threatened that he would not let me complete my training if I did not have physical relations with him.”
The girl added that she was alone in a hospital room on October 20 when Abhishek came there. She alleged that the man made physical relations with her by force, beat her up and also threatened to kill her.
The police have conducted a medical examination of the girl. A case has been registered against Abhishek at the Sector 7 police station on the complaint of the girl under Sections 4 and 8 of the POCSO Act, Sections 351 (2), 115 (2) and 3 (5) of the BNS.
