Congress distributes masks among Chandigarh residents

To mark the 30th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, the Chandigarh Congress today distributed more than 1.25 lakh masks among city residents.

The drive was started by Balbir Singh Sidhu, Health Minister of Punjab, and Subhash Chawla, president, Chandigarh Congress, at a function in Sector 41 organiSed by Bhupinder Badheri, senior Congress leader, and youth leader Attinder Roby.

Sidhu praised the efforts of the Chandigarh Congress for working to help the city residents during the pandemic. He said the ambulance service started by the Chandigarh Congress was a great effort.

Congress workers, including Youth Congress, Mahila Congress, NSUI, INTUC and Sewa Dal, went door to door to distribute masks in 35 blocks of the city.

Former Union Minister Pawan Bansal said Rajiv Gandhi was instrumental in building a modern, resurgent India. It was his vision that computer technology thrived in the country, he said. He was a man with a scientific temper and modern outlook, added Bansal. Subhash Chawla said Rajiv Gandhi would always be remembered for the works he did.
