Rajni Patil, while addressing the gathering, said that the ‘Vote chor, gaddi chhod’ programme was not just a campaign, it was a clarion call to reclaim “our democracy from those who manipulate votes to usurp power, undemocratically”, under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge.

Chandigarh MP Manish Tewari stated that under the present dispensation at the Centre, the EVM manipulations and institutional capture of the democratic process was posing a threat to the very foundations of our democracy. He asserted that such initiatives were vital to make the people aware of the threat to democracy. He said this campaign would galvanise the youth and marginalised voices and ensure that the sanctity of the electoral process was restored.
