Congress leader Himmat Singh criticised the government for the directions issued to the schools to send students for the Raahgiri programme to be held on Sunday. He said the BJP should bring its people instead of forcing student participation.

The congress leader submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, Dr Shaleen, for Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya in this regard.

He said, “Raahgiri is not a national festival. The children and the school operators are being forced to participate just to show a crowd. If the BJP government wants to make its programmes successful, it should bring its workers instead of harassing schoolchildren. We have requested the governor issue directions and stop the Education Department from forcing the schools to participate.”
